Category 5e cabling (CAT5)

Category 5e cable, more commonly known as Cat 5e is a twisted pair type cable designed and manufactured for high signal integrity. This standard of cable is used in structured cabling for computer networks such as Gigabit Ethernet (1GB/s) and full digital voice services. Cat5e standard cable when compared to the newer Cat6 & Cat6a still stands up as a more cost effective option.

A Cat5e cabling infrastructure will allow future expansion, flexibility and a client plug and play facility. Computers, telephones, printers, fax machines modems and other network devices, all can be moved freely throughout the premises by the client keeping engineering costs to a minimum.

Category 6 cabling

Category 6 cable, otherwise referred to as Cat6 is a cable standard for Gigabit Ethernet and other network protocols and features more stringent specifications for interference and system noise than Cat5e. Cat6 suits the 10Gbase-T (10Gigabit Ethernet) standard and like Cat5 still has a maximum operating distance of 100m.

Fibre optic cable

Multi – Mode fibre cabling: A high speed and medium cost solution for single site multiple building data network infrastructure.
Single – Mode: An ultra high speed and costly data network solution. Typically used on a large scale single site / campus application.
